Code Talker remembered that if any teacher heard someone speak a word of Navajo, the teacher would make that person eat an entire bar of soap.Īs his nickname suggests, he was apparently a "code talker" for the U.S. Along with many other American Indians, he was taught how to be "civilized" and how to speak English, being told Navajo was a "dirty" language.
In his younger years, Code Talker was taken from him mother and brought the an American Indian boarding school and given the name "George".
